Woman dies while in D.C. police custody

Updated 4:36 p.m.: The D.C. police internal affairs division is investigating the death of a woman who died while in police custody Friday night, according to authorities.

Ukalie Boyd, 42, of Northwest D.C. injured herself while in a cell at the 3rd District station, according to a police report. She was transported to George Washington University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 8:42 p.m., according to the report.
