An argument at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring on Tuesday morning ended with a 16-year-old girl stabbing a 16-year-old boy, Montgomery County officials said.
The boy’s injuries were mild and he’s expected to be fine, police said.
The two teens were arguing a little after 9 a.m. when the boy pushed the girl and she came back at him with a sharp implement, school and police officials said. They’re unsure whether it was a knife, but it was sharp enough to leave a gash in the boy’s arm.
The girl ran from the school but was later apprehended, police said.
The incident is not connected to the recent shooting death of Montgomery Blair freshman Tai Lam, 14, police said.
A 20-year-old illegal immigrant with MS-13 gang ties is already in jail for allegedly firing the gun that killed Lam on Nov. 1.
Police are searching for two other men who they believe also have MS-13 gang ties.
