An unidentified dog-walking neighbor was reportedly surprised to see a fully naked man standing inside his screened-in front porch in a Cape Coral neighborhood located in Southwest Florida.

The neighbor called the police on Wednesday to report the nudity and “felt like he was deliberately displaying his genitals.”

Some neighbors are outraged by the full display of nudity.
“My neighbors have kids and grandkids, and I see kids walking down the road all the time,” said a neighbor to the local news outlet WINK.
Michael Sweet, a neighbor of the naked man, pushed back on the outrage in the neighborhood.
Sweet explained that his undressed neighbor has an innocent explanation.
“I heard that my neighbor was taking a shower. He forgot [he] had the door open. So he went to go close it. He saw someone like standing at the corner of that street looking straight at his property, like, froze for a second,” said Sweet.
He added that his uncovered neighbor was actually frozen in embarrassment behind his screened-in porch door when he realized a neighbor had spotted him in the nude.

Local Cape Coral attorney Scot Goldberg said that there is a “gray area” in the prosecution and they would need to decide if this is one-time mistake or pattern.
Neighbors told the local news that they had seen the neighbor wearing a ‘thong swimsuit’ and wondered if the man culturally might come from a country that is more open to full frontal nudity.
