2 die in Oxon Hill hit-and-run

A man and woman have died after they were struck in a hit-and-run in Oxon Hill. Prince George’s County police said Saturday that 55-year-old Michael Thomas and 62-year-old Mildred Freeman died from injuries they suffered when they were hit while they were standing in the street on the 6200 block of Oxon Hill Road at about 7 a.m. Friday. The vehicle, described as a gray compact car, fled the scene.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.

Man in critical condition after MontCo shooting

Police say a man was shot and critically wounded during a fight inside a Gaithersburg home.

Montgomery County police said the shooting happened at about 6:15 a.m. Saturday in a home on the 1200 block of Knoll Mist Lane.

The victim, identified only as an adult man, was shot when two other people got into a fight and wrestled for a gun. The shooting victim was not involved in that altercation, police said. The man was hospitalized in critical condition.

Information about the shooter was not released.

Police on lookout for Takoma Park robbers

Police are on the lookout for two men who robbed a Takoma Park store at gunpoint. The men entered the Cellular Stop on the 7200 block of New Hampshire Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. Friday and ordered people in the store to get on the ground, according to Takoma Park police.

Police said the robbers took property and fled.

The first robber was described as a black man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing a gray North Face jacket. The second man was black, in his early 20s, 6-feet-tall and wearing a black hoodie and dark pants. The two fled in a gray or silver late-1990s four-door Nissan Maxima.
