Maryland state police arrested two brothers Tuesday in a series of weekend armed robberies in Carroll County, including a fifth robbery that occurred Monday night in Mount Airy.
Gregory McGehrin, 19, and his brother Bryan, 23, both of Taylorsville, were charged with four counts each of armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, theft and conspiracy, state police said.

The robberies began Saturday night and continued Sunday in Sykesville, Gamber, Woodbine and Mount Airy.
In each incident, police said a man armed with a rifle demanded money from clerks at convenience stores and carryout restaurants.
No shots were fired and no one was injured in any of the robberies, police said.
