Kevin Brioso is only 18 years old, but police say he’s already no stranger to law enforcement.

Brioso, a known gang member, is wanted for allegedly shooting into a crowd and wounding two people in Hyattsville last month.

U.S. Marshals deputies are asking the public for information that could lead to his arrest.

“Brioso is clearly a violent offender with no regard whatsoever for other human beings. We need him off the street,” said Supervisory Inspector Matt Burke, of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

On the night of June 30, Brioso and two men approached a group of people on Tahona Drive in Hyattsville. The trio believed they had encountered members of a rival gang. Brioso opened fire and shot two people, police said.

Brioso and the other gang members fled in a vehicle and were quickly followed by Prince George’s County police. The chase ended in Montgomery County in downtown Silver Spring.

The two other suspects were captured, but Brioso escaped.

Brioso is wanted on two counts of attempted murder and other charges.

Brioso has a rap sheet that includes arrests on charges of armed robbery, drug possession, handgun possession and disorderly conduct. He has another outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court in Prince George’s County to answer charges of disorderly conduct and trespassing.

Brioso is known to hang out in Langley Park, Laurel and Silver Spring.

He is listed as 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds. He has tattoos around his collar bone and a distinctive mole below his lower lip.

Anyone with information about Brioso’s whereabouts should contact the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force at 301-489-1717.

Tips from readers of The Washington Examiner have led directly to the arrests of 45 fugitives. Earlier his month, an alert reader spotted a convicted kidnapper, who had been on the run for two years, staying at a resort in the mountains of western Maryland.
