Man killed in Prince George’s County

Updated, 12:53 p.m.: Police have identified Joel Craig Brown, 40, as the victim in a homicide in Adelphi Tuesday night. Brown, of Silver Spring, was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds when police found him in front of an apartment complex, Prince George’s County police said. A man was killed in Prince George’s County on Tuesday night, police said.

At 6:41 p.m., police responded to a call for a shooting in the 1800 block of Metzerott Road in Adelphi. They found an adult male unresponsive, and he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Cpl. Mike Rodriguez of the Prince George’s Police Department.

So far this year, there have been six homicides in Prince George’s County, Rodriguez said. Last year got off to a deadly start in the county as there had been 15 homicides in Prince George’s at this time in 2011.
