Girl stabbed at Northwood High School

A girl was stabbed shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday outside of Northwood High School while a basketball game was being played inside.

She was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The stabbing occurred within a group of girls from Kennedy High School who had been visiting Northwood to watch the game, said Montgomery County Police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks. The group left the game and the stabbing then occurred in conjunction with a dispute in the parking lot.

Though Starks said the victim was not a Northwood student there was no further information available on her age or identity. Police are continuing to investigate.
