Police seek help ID-ing serial thief

Police across the region are looking for a man they believe has been committing thefts in the D.C. area since November 2009. The man is wanted in larceny cases in Alexandria and in Loudoun, Montgomery, Fairfax and Charles counties, according to Alexandria police.

The man takes a wallet from a woman’s purse while she is shopping, then uses her credit cards, police said. He may have an accomplice who distracts her. Police didn’t say how many thefts the man is linked to.
