D.C. officer sentenced in burglary sting
A former D.C. police officer was sentenced to seven months behind bars for an attempted burglary of a Northwest Washington home. Jennifer Green was arrested in March after she participated with undercover officers in what she believed to be a burglary of a home in the 5500 block of Colorado Avenue NW. Police said Green brought to the break-in her service weapon and her police-issued radio, which she monitored as a cooperating witness acted like he was breaking into the home. He returned with drugs and money, and Green kept more than half of the money for herself. She was arrested that evening. Green had been with the D.C. police department for five years before she resigned in April.
