Man sentenced in church stabbing
A D.C. man will spend 15 yeas behind bars for stabbing his girlfriend at a Lanham church. Darian Malcolm, 33, was sentenced to 30 years, with the judge suspending 15 years, after pleading to attempted second-degree murder. Malcolm and his girlfriend worked for a company that cleaned the Reid Temple AME Church. Malcolm accused her of having an affair and stabbed her several times.
Body found in Lorton trailer fire
Fairfax County firefighters found the body of a man at a camper trailer fire in Lorton on Thursday morning. Around 6:30 a.m., firefighters responded to an industrial park near Interstate 95. Firefighters put out the fire and found the body. The man had not been identified late Thursday.

A 46-year-old Army contracting official has been accused of soliciting more than $30,000 in bribes from an Egyptian businessman in Kuwait, prosecutors said in Alexandria’s federal court. William Rondell Collins allegedly helped the Egyptian’s company acquire contracts to provide housing for U.S. military members in Afghanistan and Iraq.
