Rescuers injured in fire at farmhouse-turned-clinic
Frederick County fire officials say two firefighters were injured while battling a blaze at a medical clinic in a historic farmhouse in Frederick.
Authorities said firefighters attacked the fire while a water supply was established since there are no hydrants nearby.
Two firefighters were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
The clinic, operated by Dr. Nicola M. Tauraso, closed earlier this year when the pediatrician’s medical license was suspended after an investigation found he had frequently prescribed high dosages of Oxycontin.
