Man gets 45 years in prison for Md. armed robbery

A 48-year-old District man was ordered to spend the next 45 years in prison for the armed robbery of a Cheverly cell phone store during which the owner and his employee were locked in the store’s bathroom.

David Warner Turner was wearing a hat and sunglasses during the May 2009 robbery, but the victims were able to identify him during trial, prosecutors said.

While robbing the All-In Wireless, Turner stole cash from the register, destroyed the store’s surveillance video system and locked the owner and his sole employee in the store’s bathroom before fleeing, authorities said. – Freeman Klopott
