Hollywood producer accused of murdering two women charged by district attorney

A Hollywood producer was charged with the murder of two women on Tuesday, eight months after the victims’ bodies were found at two separate hospitals.

Investigators found enough additional evidence to link David Pearce, 40, with the November 2021 deaths of model Christy Giles and her friend Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, in addition to the rape and sexual assault of three other victims, District Attorney George Gascon announced in a press conference. Pearce remains in custody after being arrested in December 2021, the office confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

“I recognize that these charges are a small consolation to the friends and family members of Ms. Arzola and Ms. Giles,” Gascon said. “I’m sure that they want to know what happened to their loved ones and why. Today, we are one step closer in the search for that truth. And although we know nothing can bring these daughters and friends back to us, I promise that my office will do everything in its power to hold those that harmed them accountable.”

Pearce has already been charged with several counts of sexual assault against a total of seven victims spanning a 13-year period, according to a news release from the office. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of 120 years in prison, Gascon said.

Pearce’s friend, actor Brandt Osborn, 42, was also charged with two counts of being an accessory after the fact, and a warrant for his arrest has been issued, Gascon said. Osborn was initially arrested on Dec. 15 last year but was released two days later after the district attorney’s office rejected his arrest information, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s records.

Jacob Glucksman, Pearce’s defense attorney, claims his client is facing charges and allegations “based on extremely weak evidence,” he told the New York Post on Tuesday.

Both Pearce and Osborn are scheduled to be arraigned on July 11.
