Secret Service poser
gets to HHS offices
A 46-year-old man allegedly posed as a Secret Service agent and slipped past security at the Department of Health and Human Services, getting up to the offices of Secretary Kathleen Sebelius before he was stopped, authorities said.
Sebelius was not in her offices at the time.
Frederick James Nickerson got up to the sixth floor before leaving when employees confronted him, court documents said. He was arrested Tuesday.
Body found in Rock Creek
D.C. firefighters found a body while responding to smoke coming from an electrical cable under the M Street Bridge in Rock Creek Park.
The incidents appear to be unrelated, said fire department spokesman Pete Piringer.
The man appeared to be about 40 years old and was wearing jeans and tennis shoes and a jacket. He did not appear to be homeless, authorities said.
