P.G. attempted murder suspect arrested in New Jersey

A suspect in a Prince George’s County attempted murder was arrested Tuesday in New Jersey, authorities said.

Carlos Monge-Martine, 31, faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, according to the Prince George’s County sheriff’s office.

Authorities said that on April 23, Monge-Martinez stabbed his ex-girlfriend with a knife and attempted to stab a man following a physical altercation in the 7900 block of 18th Avenue in Hyattsville.

Sheriff’s deputites and members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested Monge-Martinez in Red Bank, N.J. He is being charged as a fugitive and awaits extradition, sheriff’s officials said.
