Inmate who was released by mistake is being sought

Authorities are searching for an inmate who was mistakenly released from a Virginia jail. Shervon Vonte Brown was convicted in August on robbery and firearms charges. He didn’t appear for a sentencing hearing on Oct. 27, and officials discovered that he had been released 12 days earlier. Prosecutors and court officials thought Brown was in jail on an unrelated charge, but he had completed his sentence on that charge and was released.
