A laptop computer was stolen from the Dupont Circle home of Colombian Ambassador Carolina Barco early Monday, but police quickly caught the burglar.

Barco heard someone in her home and alerted the U.S. Secret Service. Police quickly caught the burglar and recovered the computer, according to an embassy news release.

Police charged Raul Herrera, 52, with burglary, according to a Secret Service spokesman.

A window was broken, and someone had rummaged through Barco’s belongings. The ambassador was not hurt during the incident.
