Off-duty officer kills dog

Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold said he was “outraged” to learn about an off-duty federal officer killing a Siberian husky in a Severn dog park.

The husky, known as Bear-Bear, was shot Monday. The owners said he was playing with the officer’s dog, but the officer told police that the husky tried to bite him and his dog.

After initially saying the matter was closed, Police Chief James Teare reopened the case.
