Police seek help finding Aspen Hill man

Authorities are asking for help finding a Montgomery County man who suffers from schizophrenia and hasn’t been seen for more than two weeks.

Frederick Henry Louis Henschen was last seen May 11 at his home on the 14500 block of Homecrest Road, in the Aspen Hill area of Silver Spring, according to Montgomery County police.

Police issued an alert about his disappearance last week, but investigators had no new information about what happened or where he may have gone, Montgomery County police spokeswoman Angela Cruz said Tuesday.

Henschen, 66, had recently moved to Aspen Hill from the District, police said.

Cruz said detectives had not found any evidence of foul play in his disappearance. But police and Henschen’s family are worried about his welfare because he is schizophrenic and does not have his medication with him.

Authorities said he is familiar with public transportation and often spends time near K Street and 16th Street Northwest in the District.

Henschen is described as white, approximately 5-foot-10 and about 170 pounds. He has blue eyes, balding gray hair and a gray beard, and wears glasses. Anyone who has information about his disappearance is asked to call police at 301-279-8000.
