Student struck in Adams Morgan dies
The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies student who was struck by a car that drove up on a sidewalk in Adams Morgan last week has died.
Julia Bachleitner, a native of Austria, died Tuesday afternoon, according to D.C. police. She was 26. School officials said she was with family members and her boyfriend when she died.
Bachleitner and another pedestrian were waiting on a traffic island Wednesday night when a car heading south on 18th Street struck them as it tried to turn onto U Street and crashed into a restaurant.
The driver of the car that hit Bachleitner has been charged with aggravated assault and driving under the influence.
Nazi symbols found at Georgetown dorms
Someone scrawled Nazi symbols on dorm room doors of several Georgetown University students, police said.
Swastikas symbols and “Hitler” were written on the dry erase boards on residence doors at New South Hall and Darnall Hall on several occasions over the past two weeks.
Georgetown police are investigating the incidents as possible hate crimes.

Not guilty pleas in death of Va. man
The two people accused of killing a Fairfax County man while he was in California for a job interview have pleaded not guilty to murder charges
George Huggins, 24, and Althea Housley, 33, have been charged in the July 18 shooting death of Jing Hong Kang, who was in Oakland for a job interview at Google.
Police allege that Huggins fired the shots that killed Kang, 45, and Housley was present at the time of the shooting. They also allegedly robbed him of $17.
