Police search for suspected Christmas Day killer
Montgomery County police said they were searching for the 27-year-old roommate of a man fatally stabbed in a Rockville apartment on Christmas Day.
Miguel Rodriguez Lainez has been charged with second-degree murder and is accused of stabbing 25-year-old Manuel Oscar Martinez to death during an early morning argument Friday, police said. Lainez left the apartment on the 200 block of Frederick Avenue after the fight and hasn’t been seen since.

D.C. teen shot to death in Pr. George’s drive-by
An 18-year-old man from Anacostia was gunned down by a drive-by shooter in Capitol Heights, Prince George’s County police said. Ricardo Eugene had just left the nightclub Le Pearl Ballroom on Monday morning when he was shot several times, authorities said. Police said they had no suspect nor information about the vehicle used in the drive-by. Anyone with information should call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
Arlington man’s death ruled homicide
Arlington County police said 57-year-old Carl Diener was beaten to death in Clarendon. Diener’s body was found near the intersection of 13th and North Jackson streets at about 3 a.m., police said. Police were searching for a motive and suspect.
Teen faces assault charges in Metro incident
Metro police have charged an 18-year-old with aggravated assault after they say he pushed another man into the side of a Red Line train in Gallery Place. Jarrell Thompson Jr. faces up to 15 years in prison if he’s convicted of shoving the other man into the stationary train Nov. 30.
