Fairfax seeks bike-riding bandit

The Fairfax County Police are seeking information on a bicycle-riding man who robbed a branch of BB&T bank in the Merrifield area last month.

The man entered the bank at 8416 Arlington Blvd. at 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 17 and demanded money, police said. After the teller complied, the man fled on a bicycle with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was displayed or implied, and no one was injured in the incident, according to the police.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 50s. He is about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a stocky build, according to the release. He wore a light brown hat, dark glasses and a green jacket.
