U.S. marshals are looking for a man accused of violently beating another man with a metal broom.

Twenty-eight-year old Victor Blanco, of the District, is wanted on warrants for three separate crimes:

• Probation violation for assaulting two D.C. police officers who were responding to a call for a man with a knife.

• Parole violation for a 2003 robbery.

• Failure to appear before a D.C. judge on an aggravated-assault charge.

Marshals deputies are asking the public for any information that could help capture Blanco.

“Victor Blanco should be considered armed and dangerous and he has no intentions of going back to jail,” said Deputy Luis Arellano Jr.

In April, Blanco allegedly punched a man at a apartment complex in the 4000 block of 13th Street NW after the victim refused to buy him beer. The man told Blanco he wouldn’t buy the alcohol because he was Christian, according to charging documents.

Blanco left for a moment and returned with a broom handle and repeatedly struck the man in the forehead. Police followed a trail of blood to Blanco and arrested him.

Blanco is described as 5-foot-7 and 140 pounds. He has several tattoos, including a cross on his left cheek.

Anyone with information regarding Blanco’s whereabouts is urged to call Arellano or the U.S. Marshals Service at 301-489-1717 or 800-336-0102.

Tips from readers of The Washington Examiner have led to the arrest of 35 fugitives in the D.C. area in the past three years, including convicted murderers, kidnappers, pedophiles, rapists and scam artists.

The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, run by the U.S. Marshals Service, is composed of 30 federal, state and local agencies from Baltimore to Norfolk. The unit has captured more than 33,000 fugitives since its creation in 2004.
