A 5k run and walk in Bethesda on Sunday will honor slain Lululemon Athletica employee Jayna Murray. Murray’s co-worker, 29-year-old Brittany Norwood, is scheduled to face trial next month in connection with Murray’s March slaying.
The Jayna Murray Foundation is hosting Sunday’s race to honor Murray and raise money for scholarships.
The race begins near Elm Street and Arlington Road in Bethesda at 8 a.m. People can register to run or walk the morning of the race. That site is just blocks from the Lululemon yoga store where prosecutors allege that Norwood brutally beat 30-year-old Murray to death on March 11. Norwood is charged with first-degree murder.
More information about the race is available at jaynamurrayfoundation.com.
