Teens charged in beating
death of Gaithersburg man
A teenage girl and boy were arrested on murder charges in the May death of a 57-year-old man whose body was found along a walking path, Montgomery County police said.
Emily Drew Geller, 18, and Artie Ellis, 15, both of Potomac, were charged with first-degree murder and robbery in the death of Ali Reza Zare of Gaithersburg. He was found along a Potomac path by a Sunday morning jogger. He was killed by a blunt force injury to the back of the head.

Zare’s blue Subaru was found that afternoon near Seven Locks Elementary School. Evidence inside the car was linked to Geller, police said. Police searched Ellis’ bedroom and found property that belonged to Zare.
D.C. police officers receive big dose of H1N1 vaccine
About two dozen District police officers received a larger than normal dose of the H1N1 vaccine and are being watched closely to see whether they become ill, city officials said. The officers were the first in line to receive the vaccinations from a D.C. fire department-run clinic Wednesday, a fire department spokesman said. The technicians providing the shots realized their error 30 minutes into the day and corrected their actions. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention spokeswoman said there’s no evidence to show a larger than normal dose is dangerous.
Burglar awakens sleeping couple
A Chantilly couple were awakened early Thursday by a burglar rummaging through their bedroom, Fairfax County police said. The intruder immediately fled down the stairs and out the door. No one was injured. The burglar was about 25 years old, 5-feet-8-inches tall and 210 pounds. He had straight dark hair, dark clothes, and a protruding stomach.
