Bowie State student indicted in slaying

A Bowie State University student accused of stabbing her suitemate to death was indicted Thursday.

A Prince George’s County grand jury has charged Alexis D. Simpson, 19, with murder and carrying a dangerous weapon in the slaying of Dominique T. Frazier, 18.

Simpson, from District Heights, and Frazier, of D.C., were fighting over music when Simpson pulled out a knife and stabbed Frazier in the neck, police said.

The two women lived on campus in the Christa McAuliffe Residential Community building.


Gunman robbing Suitland Metro riders

Metro Transit Police are investigating a series of armed robberies in the parking garage at the Suitland station.

Police say five robberies at the garage have been reported since Sept. 27. The first four happened between 5:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.; the last one happened at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

In each case, a man with a black handgun approached the riders, demanded property and fled from the garage on foot.

The suspect is dark-complexioned black male, about 5-foot-6, in his early to mid-20s, with dreadlocks and a baseball cap. Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call police at 202-962-2121.


N.Va. police probe burglaries

Police are investigating a series of burglaries at Arlington and Falls Church homes.

Falls Church police said 10 homes have been burglarized in the Broadmont area between Sept. 2 and Oct. 7. Most of the break-ins happened between 6 p.m. and 3 a.m.

The burglars entered the homes through unlocked doors or kicked in a door, police said.

Items stolen include laptops, iPods, a handgun, passports, bank checks and jewelry.
