The show was an early reality-television program and has become one of the longest-running shows in history. The program documents the work of law enforcement officers by having camera crews follow them on patrol and solving cases. The show is unscripted.
“COPS” has filmed in 140 U.S. cities, as well as international sites, such as London and Hong Kong.
It was created by John Langley and Malcolm Barbour.
“COPS” began its 23rd season last September. To date, 948 episodes of the half-hour show have aired.
