Woman’s body found in Baltimore park

The body of woman was found under a bridge this morning in Herring Run Park near the 3500 block of Harford road in Baltimore.

Detectives from the city’s special task force investigating the recent rash of strangling deaths of sex workers were combing the scene today in search of clues.

Police said the victim is a black woman who appeared to be in her mid-30s. Investigators did not immediately have a cause of death, but investigators said marks were found around her neck, indicating she may have been strangled.

Since April, five prostitutes have been strangled to death in Baltimore and more than two dozen slain in the last decade. Six of those cases have been closed.

Police spokesman Detective Donnie Moses said they received a call around 7 o’clock in the morning. The caller said a body was lying on path in the park directly under bridge on the 3500 block of Harford road.

“A jogger spotted something from the bridge, went down into the park to investigate, and discovered the body,” Moses said.
