Police respond to shooting at Concord Mills mall in North Carolina

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at Concord Mills mall in North Carolina.

At around 1 p.m., Concord Police said in a Twitter thread that the mall was closed until further notice. The police confirmed at 1:16 p.m. in the thread that they were investigating an officer-involved shooting.


The scene is secure, and there is no danger to the public, the tweet stated.

Prior to police confirmation, speculation on Twitter circulated that there were gunshots heard in the mall, with one woman posting that her daughter and granddaughter were reportedly secure in an Aerie stockroom with employees.
