Man in fur hat robs Lanham bank

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Lanham. Prince George’s County police said the suspect robbed the BB&T Bank located at 9300 Lanham Severn Road on Dec. 16 around 1:30 p.m.

The suspect walked into the bank, posing as a customer, and approached the counter. He passed a threatening note to the teller, implying he was armed and demanding money.

The teller complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the robber. Police said the man fled the scene, possibly in a green colored sedan.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, standing about 5-foot-7 and weighing around 135 pounds. He has a black mustache and bumps around his facial area. Police said he was last seen wearing a black fur hat, black jacket, green shoes and gloves.
