Bomb threat diverts Dulles-bound plane

A bomb threat was made on a plane to headed to the Washington area on Wednesday, causing the flight to be diverted to North Carolina.

The threat was written on a mirror in the plane’s restroom, authorities said. The Continental Airlines flight from Houston to Washington Dulles International Airport was diverted to an airport near Greensboro, N.C., and federal investigators interviewed about 45 people on the plane.

Baltimore school officials are investigating a bullying incident at an elementary school after a girl with cerebral palsy threatened to jump out a school window.

Geneva Biggus says her 8-year-old daughter tried to commit suicide after she was teased, knocked from her crutches and kicked in the head.

A school officials said the girl was not at a window, but was taken to the nurse’s office after she said she wanted to kill herself.

Store owner shoots at robbers

A 76-year-old jewelry shop owner shot at armed robbers at his boutique in Kensington.

One or both of the robbers might have been struck. The shop owner was taken to a hospital with injuries that he sustained during a struggle with the robbers. The injuries were not life threatening.

The incident happened about 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sandro Jewelry Boutique at 3768 Howard Ave. Montgomery County police said two men pretended to be customers. One of the men pulled out a handgun after the owner saw the other man trying to steal cash.
