MontCo police seek armed bank robbers

Montgomery County police are investigating a bank robbery in which gunmen launched a manager over the counter and injured his leg before making off with the loot. Authorities have descriptions of the men and are asking the public to help them catch the violent suspects. Around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, two men entered the Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union at 11140 New Hampshire Ave. in the White Oak section of Silver Spring, showed their handguns and announced a hold-up.

During the course of the crime, the suspects attacked the manager and threw him over the teller counter, police said. The manager sustained a possible broken leg and required medical attention.

After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects fled in a small, dark-colored sedan.

The first suspect is described as a clean-shaven black male in his early-to-mid 20s, about 6 feet 2 inches and weighing between 180 and 210 pounds. He was dressed in all black and was armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is described as a black male between 35 and 45 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches with a heavy build and a goatee. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored jacket and sunglasses and was armed with a handgun.
