Man charged in P.W. home invasion
Prince William County police say they have arrested one of the two men who allegedly barged into a Lake Ridge home looking for drugs only to realize they were in the wrong house. Shyreece Brown was arrested Tuesday on robbery, assault and abduction charges after police said they executed a search at his home on the 3400 block of Braddock Drive in Dale City. Police say Brown and an unidentified man broke into a 29-year-old woman’s house on March 11 on the 12100 block of Presidio Way while her three children — all under 5 years old — were home. No one was injured.
Man gets 90 days in jail for Rottweiler’s death
A Thurmont, Md., man whose 112-pound Rottweiler died after being left chained to a stake in the hot July sun has been sentenced to 90 days in jail. Frederick County District Judge Janice Ambrose also ordered 24-year-old Michael Flemming to do 50 hours of community service, preferably at an animal shelter. Flemming told the judge he loved the dog and no amount of jail time could erase his pain.

Police ID arrested female bandit suspect
The woman charged in a series of Chantilly bank robberies over the past month was identified Wednesday as Shona Jones, 21, of Rapidan, Va., according to Fairfax County police. Jones — along with an alleged accomplice, 26-year-old Joshua Campbell — was charged with four counts of robbery in Fairfax County on Tuesday. They also face charges in Vienna for robberies there, police said.
