Police searching for Lorton bank robber

Fairfax County police are looking for a bandit who robbed the Lorton Bank of America earlier this month.

The robber entered the bank at 9405 Lorton Market St. around 12:51 p.m. April 18, police said. He passed a note to the teller demanding cash. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the robber, who then fled.

The suspect is black and about 20 years old. He about 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He wore a black cap, black shirt and bluejeans.

Law enforcement authorities recently made an arrest in an unrelated bank robbery in Prince George’s County, after a suspect was caught on a surveillance camera.

Jonathan Antonio Vasquez, 21, was charged April 15 by Prince George’s police. He is accused of robbing a SunTrust bank at 12410 Fairwood Parkway in Bowie on March 30. An FBI official said he passed a note to a teller demanding cash. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
