Montgomery County police have identified the husband and wife killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Silver Spring over the weekend.
Police said 49-year-old Donovan D. Richards and 39-year-old Mischeel L. Richards were found dead in their home on the 13600 block of Colgate Way in the Briggs Chaney area at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Officer Janelle Smith, a police spokeswoman, said Wednesday that no ruling had been made on which death was a homicide and which was a suicide. The couple’s bodies were taken to Baltimore for autopsies.
Officers went to the apartment after police received a report of a missing person and found the two dead inside. Police say a suicide note was in the apartment and Donovan and Mischeel Richards both suffered trauma. Authorities have not disclosed how they died.
