Gaithersburg man shows handgun, shoots 20-year-old

A Gaithersburg was charged with attempted murder after police said he shot a man after showing the victim a handgun.

Around 5 a.m. Sunday, 37-year-old Don Paul Wyatt was displaying the handgun to the 20-year-old inside the Washington Towers, 9701 Fields Road, when the two got into an argument, Montgomery County police said. The 20-year-old was shot and taken to a hospital. Wyatt was charged with first-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault.
