Strip club fire was set on purpose

Prince George’s County fire investigators have determined that a Beltsville strip club was intentionally set on fire. Just after 4 a.m. Monday, firefighters were called to the Showcase Theater on the 11200 block of Old Baltimore Pike for a report of a fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and nobody was hurt, said Prince George’s County fire spokesman Mark Brady. The business was closed and nobody was in the building when firefighters arrived, he said. Investigators collected a fair amount of evidence and concluded that the fire set on purpose, Brady said. The fire damage was estimated to be about $25,000.

Anyone with information about the blaze can call the arson tip line at 301-772-7766.
