Two officers in the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office have received national awards recognizing their efforts in opening a new wing of the county jail.

Maj. Ricky Frye, who oversees the county’s Corrections and Court Services Division, has been given an award for innovation in corrections from the National Sheriffs’ Association. The Loudoun County Adult Detention Center was too small when it opened in 2007, and Frye led efforts to open a new wing with about 350 additional beds.
