P.G. police hand out cash

Prince George’s County police distributed $1 bills to drivers and passengers who had their seat belts fastened Wednesday.

Police and safety officials handed out the bills near the Boulevard at the Capital Center in Largo.

People who didn’t have their belts secured received safety educational materials. Police say Prince George’s leads the state in the number of motor vehicle deaths and that proper seat belt use is the best way for people to protect themselves.
