On this day, Jan. 25, 2005, a Wichita, Kan., television station received a postcard from the serial killer known as BTK, revealing himself once again after a nearly 15-year hiatus of terrorizing the community. The card revealed the location of a cereal box that contained a bound doll representing one of his 10 victims from nearly two decades earlier.

Several weeks later, BTK (which stands for “bind, torture, kill”) sent another TV station a packet containing a floppy disk and a gold necklace.
