AU student sentenced

An American University student was sentenced after he admitted to driving around D.C. with fake diplomatic license plates, prosecutors said.

When U.S. Secret Service police pulled over 24-year-old Nicholas Marino, 24, for speeding, he told the officer he was a diplomat from the Italian Embassy and claimed diplomatic immunity.

He was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to perform 240 hours of community service.
