AAA: Stronger guardrails needed after bus crashAAA Mid-Atlantic is calling for stronger guardrails on roads and bridges after a tour bus crash in Bethesda killed one and injured more than a dozen others.

A tour bus crashed through a guardrail on an Interstate 270 sky ramp Wednesday afternoon, plunging down a 45-foot embankment.

AAA said other similar incidents have occurred in recent years, including a pickup truck that crashed off a bridge overpass in Anne Arundel County and a tractor-trailer driver who died after his rig drove off a span of the Bay Bridge.

82 Fairfax burglary incidents linked

Fairfax County police are investigating 82 burglaries, thefts and attempted break-ins that authorities say are the work of one suspect.

The person stole two handguns from a vehicle, but usually takes money, purses and other small items.

The thief typically enters homes through an unlocked door or window, police said, or breaks into unlocked cars or smashes a window and takes items in plain view. He is described as a man who is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 150 to 175 pounds.
