Stupid Crimes

30 minutes, or it’s a beating

A Miami-Dade County prosecutor is in hot water after he allegedly punched a pizza girl who couldn’t get into his gated condominium.

After yelling from his balcony at the girl, who could not speak English, David Ranck rushed downstairs, knocked off the Domino’s visor from her head and punched her in the arm, police said.

Ranck was charged with misdemeanor battery. When police arrived, Ranck was standing outsider her car and the girl was inside “shaking and in tears.”

He never got his pizza.

Senior citizen justice

An Oregon teenager learned the hard way not to tangle with senior citizens. Or bowlers.

After trying to snatch two elderly bowler’s purses, the 16-year-old tried to run away but was blocked by a couple seniors who started screaming. An employee grabbed the teen and then the elderly bowlers dog-piled him until authorities arrived, according to the Oregonian.

Said league member Nathan Krawitz, “Never fool with a bowler.”

Deere in the headlights

A Terre Haute, Ind., man is facing DWI charges after flipping his car on a deserted road and then driving a farm tractor into a creek.

After surviving the first accident, Kevin Michael Whitesell, 31, decided to walk the two miles to a farmhouse to get a four-wheel tractor and tow the car away before anyone noticed.

While dragging his upturned car across a bridge, Whitesell lost control of the tractor and ran both vehicles into a creek.

He is being charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash, as well as causing more than $150,000 in damage to the stolen tractor and bridge.

Meth is a gateway drug

An Arkansas man was shocked after trying to steal power to run his meth lab. Roy Achterberg fell from a power pole after trying to connect jumper cables to the lines. Achterberg suffered a broken back, neck and pelvis from the 30-foot fall and the electricity damaged his internal organs, family members said. Deputies investigating the theft of electricity found a meth lab in his home.

Cocaine carry-on

Airport detectives in Chile arrested a woman for cocaine smuggling. But instead of the hiding the narcotics in her luggage, the luggage was the narcotics. By combining cocaine with resin and glass fiber, smugglers shaped the substance into two suitcases. Guards became suspicious because the cases were heavier than their contents. The 26-year-old Argentine woman was arrested.

Wanna getaway?

Two suspected bank robbers in Daytona Beach, Fla., were arrested after their getaway car ran out of gas just blocks from the heist.

Randal Walker, 38, was taken into custody after paying a passerby $50 to drive him home. Jason Dietrich, 34, was arrested after returning to retrieve the vehicle.
