D.C. police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the rightful owner of a substantial baseball card collection.
On June 24, a collection of more than 500 baseball cards was found in a grassy area in East Potomac Park near the Tennis Center, south of the Jefferson Memorial and the 14th Street Bridge. Most of the cards are from the early 1980s. The person who found the cards notified the police after recognizing their potential value. Police who have been unable to find the collection’s owner.
The claimant will have to provide specific information to prove ownership, and the police property clerk will make the final determination as to ownership. If there is more than one claimant, a hearing will be held by the clerk.
