A man wanted on child abuse charges in Loudoun County has been apprehended in Maryland, authorities said.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old John Gallihugh was taken into custody Monday morning in Frederick County.
Gallihugh is accused of abusing a 3-year-old boy. The sheriff’s office didn’t provide further details about the alleged incident, only saying that the child suffered “physical injuries” from Gallihugh.
Investigators had been looking for Gallihugh for more than a week.
He is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and is awaiting extradition.
