An elderly, body-building woman recounted how she fought off an intruder last week during a home invasion in upstate New York.
“He was really dumbfounded,” 82-year-old Willie Murphy said Tuesday on Fox & Friends.
Murphy said last week that a man rang her doorbell, hunched over, and told her he had been shot. He urged her to call 911, she said.
“He was all doubled up, and he was saying, ‘Help me, help me, help me. I’ve been shot,'” Murphy explained.
When she ran to get her telephone, the man had broken the chain lock on her front door and entered the home. Murphy knew exactly what had happened and said she was not about to be taken advantage of. The man then lunged at her, she said.
“I had a small TV table. I picked that table up. It’s about, maybe, five inches thick. It’s wooden, and it has metal legs, and I’m whaling him and whaling him,” she said.
Once the man was lying on the ground, Murphy sprayed a bottle of shampoo in his face.
“I was cussing, and I can’t say what I was saying, but I used a lot of MF words, and I said, ‘Get out, get out, get out,'” she said.
Murphy, who is just around five feet tall, told a local news outlet she built up her strength by working out at the YMCA. She can now deadlift more than 200 pounds.
Her strength, despite her age, has been featured on national news programs in the past.
