The 55-year-old woman arrested in a stabbing outside a Target store in Lanham on Tuesday is the same woman charged in the stabbing of two women at a Nordstrom store in 2005. Prince George’s County police charged Antoinette Starks of Bowie with assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday after a 39-year-old woman was found with multiple stab wounds in the shopping center parking lot. Police arrested Starks after finding her nearby with two knives.
Earlier this year, a Montgomery County jury awarded the two victims in the Nordstrom attack nearly $1.6 million after finding that the Bethesda department store failed to do enough to prevent the knife attack.
The victims said they were stabbed after Starks tried to attack two employees who retreated into a back room.
Starks was found not criminally responsible and placed in a maximum security psychiatric hospital. A call to her attorney Wednesday was not immediately returned.
