Shots fired on Route 50

Maryland State Police say a man opened fire on another car while driving on Route 50 near Cheverly early Sunday morning.

Three men told police that they were driving eastbound near Kenilworth Avenue around 4 a.m. when a green 1990s Chevrolet Malibu pulled in front of them.

A man in the backseat of the Malibu stared at them; as the three men pulled into the next lane and passed the Malibu, they heard gunshots.

They drove away, but a flat tire stopped their Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Police found bullet impact sites on the car’s bumper and trunk.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call 301-325-3101.
