The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help identifying a suspect in the armed robbery of a gas station, authorities said.
A man approached the cashier at Plaza Shell, 3185 Crain Highway, Waldorf, Monday and demanded money. When the cashier refused, the suspect displayed a gun stuck in his waistband, sheriff’s officials said.
The cashier eventually gave the suspect the money and then the keys to his car that the suspect demanded, officials said. The car was later found abandoned less than a mile from the station.
The suspect, seen on surveillance photo, is described as a white man with green eyes between the ages of 40 and 50. He was wearing a purple “Reebok” jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, authorities said.
Anyone with information can contact the Sheriff’s Office anonymously at 301-932-7777 or call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Tipsters with information leading to an arrest or indictment could receive a reward of up to $1,000.
